Biography

Todd Ogasawara is the editor of MobileAppsToday.com (part of the MediaBistro family of sites) which focuses on mobile applications for smartphones, portable game consoles, and other mobile devices. He also writes weekly blog items about Mac applications for the O'Reilly Digital Media Mac blog.

He has been named a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in the Mobile Devices category for the past several years. His varied tech interests focus on ultraportable wireless computing devices (primarily the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform), virtualization, Mac OS X applications, and open source/proprietary software interoperability. He wrote the Shortcuts PDF book Windows for Intel Macs. He also contributed a couple of hacks to Derrick Story's book, Digital Photography Hacks and Paul Bausch's book Yahoo! Hacks. VirtualBox 2.1.0 Released: A Look at the Mac Version

VirtualBox 2.1.0 adds Intel VT-x hardware virtualization support as well as the ability to run 64-bit Guest OSes on a 32-bit host OS. I installed Xubuntu (based on Ubuntu 8.1.0) and brought in the previously built Windows 2000 Guest OS for testing. The results look good so far. read more

µTorrent Mac Beta 0.90

I tried out the recently released free µTorrent Mac Beta 0.90 at test by downloading some Star Trek Phase II fan created videos. µTorrent Mac works well but does not display all the information available when using the Windows version. I'm chalking this up to being a beta release issue. read more
